A Stationer's Favourite: Weekly & Monthly Planners

A Stationer's Favourite: Weekly & Monthly Planners

As someone who needs to write and scribble something down daily, a planner made for everyday notes, to-do-lists and advanced planning is essential to me and running my small business.

When I started Kethstudio, I looked for a planner that I could organise my life and client projects all in one. I believe I first stumbled upon an Instagram post sometime at the end of December 2021 and found Blush and Gold. They are a small business in the U.K. that produces beautiful planners, notebooks, pregnancy, wellness and wedding journals. They also work with Ashely from Pale Press London (a fellow stationer) whose flawless calligraphy graces their planners. So on January 1, 2022, I purchased the "Undated Weekly Planner – Dalmatian" and have loved their planners since.

About Blush and Gold

MARA

Originally from a little town outside Milan (Italy), Mara used to spend hours as a small child looking through her grandparents' photo albums, engrossed in each photograph, trying to piece their story together. That’s when her love for collecting memories and a passion for paper started. A wearer of many hats, Mara has been a designer, a teacher, a dreamer and everything in between.

A compulsive maker, when she's not busy designing new products and stationery, Mara can be found on the sofa binging on her favourite Netflix shows, researching anything true crime, wondering why all her plants are dying or chasing after the 3rd and 4th members of Blush and Gold, our two cats Buddy and Holly.

PAUL

A musician at heart, when he’s not laying down riffs or entertaining crowds in one of his bands, he can be found organising things behind the scenes at Blush and Gold. A self-confessed lover of spreadsheets and Excel, Paul’s most at home creating lists and trying to keep Mara’s feet on the ground.

His other loves include the eternal damnation that is following Tottenham Hotspur Football Club and snowboarding (badly).

Which planners I have used...

So far I have used, gifted or purchased the following planners:

  • Undated Weekly Planner – Dalmatian (2022)
  • 2023 Daily Planner – Noir
  • My Daily Self-Care Journal - Wellness Journal (Almond) (Gift to friend)
  • 2024 Daily Planner – Blush
  • 2025 Weekly Planner – Latte & 2025 Daily Planner – Latte

For 2025, I purchased two different planners this year since I couldn't decide which one I will need for next year. I have taken on less projects as of this year so slowing down means that I may not need the daily planner. Rest assured, these beautiful planners will not go to waste as I plan to gift one for Christmas this year to either friends or family.

    Why I love the planners...

    • Type of Planner & Colour/Material Choices
There are weekly, daily and undated planners with a variety of cover colours (some featuring cloth and vegan leather) to choose from. I have chosen different colours every year which becomes a fun collection to have.

    • The Features
All the planners feature gold foiling and edging, luxury ivory papers and sticker pages. There's so much attention to detail in the planners such as time blocking which I find really helpful. The daily planners feature a "To Do" list on the left column where I usually plan a day or two ahead for list of things I need to remember to do on that specific day.

    • Great Gifts
All their planners come in a beautiful presentation box which is wrapped and placed in another box that has a lovely interior great for gifting. The branded boxes used for both presentation and parcel are thick which is resilient to transit and weather proof (especially in the U.K.).

    Which planners are best...

I have used the daily planner for 2023 and 2024 which I personally love. I can plan out my day with "Today's Schedule" on the right column and the "To Do" list on the left. It has more than enough room when you have a full day filled with tasks you need to cross off.

If you are looking for a compact and smaller planner, the weekly planner would be best. I loved using the undated planner which is the same as the weekly planner just without dates. I used it when I first started, right before I got busier with Kethstudio. I think it really comes down to your personal needs and whichever you choose to go with is just as great!

In the Instagram reel at the bottom of this blog, you can take a better look at the comparison between the two planners (especially size). For detailed information, you can certainly find them on Blush and Gold or read their blog. (Their website is gorgeous, be sure to take a look at their other journals and books that are great for gifting!)

    Final thoughts...

By using the daily planner for almost 2 years, my opinion is a little biased and can say that is my go-to planner. However, I am undecided for 2025 since I purchased both. Regardless! If you have a busy schedule and require the need to jot everything down, go for the daily planner! And for those looking for something less complicated, the weekly planner should be the best choice.

I would love to hear from you if you've come across my blog and decided to purchase one of Blush and Gold's lovely stationery. I hope you found this helpful if you have been looking for a planner.
